Smallholder farmers are at the heart of our agroforestry initiatives. Every Acorn carbon credit purchase supports the environmental stewardship of smallholder farmers, turning their climate action into income that improves their livelihoods.
With agroforestry, farmers also have access to additional food and revenue from the trees’ produce – all the while building the resiliency of their land to the effects of climate change.
Our partners are integral to the success of our agroforestry projects. From our local project partners to our remote sensing and certification partners, our Acorn projects are able to maintain its quality and integrity because of these strong partnerships.
Our approach has been certified by the Plan Vivo Standard, and has received endorsements from leading VCM buyers. Today, our work is supported by Rabobank, a global financial institution with a 125-year heritage supporting farmers and agricultural initiatives.
